Amanda N. James was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from
Texas A&M University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 2011.
Ms. James attended Florida Coastal School of Law, where she was a member of the
Moot Court Honor Board, Mock Trial team, and obtained her J.D. in 2014. Ms. James
also served as the Internal Vice President for the Student Bar Association, a student
ambassador, and received the honor of the Law Student Recognition Award. During
her time as a moot court member, Ms. James received the award for Best Oral
Advocate and Regional Finalist at the Thomas Tang Regional Moot Court
Competition, Semifinalist at Charleston School of Law Moot Court Competition,
and Quarterfinalist at the New York City Bar National Moot Court Competition.
After graduation, she practiced civil litigation in Houston at Sprott, Newsom,
Quattlebaum, & Messenger prior to joining Lindow ▪ Stephens ▪ Treat LLP in
February of 2016. Ms. James primarily practices in first-party insurance defense,
third-party insurance defense, personal injury, and construction defect. Ms. James
has tried over 6 cases second chair to verdict in both personal injury and
construction defect/property damage cases in state and federal courtrooms across
Texas.
