Christopher A. Lotz’s primary areas of practice are civil litigation and civil appeals.

Chris has litigated matters as diverse as arbitration; arson; assault; breach of

contract; class actions; construction defects (both commercial and residential);

deceptive trade practices; First Amendment freedom of speech; industrial accidents;

insurance defense (both first and third party); landlord-tenant disputes; libel;

nuisance; pharmacy negligence; premises liability; products liability; property

damage; slander; slip and falls; shootings; storm damage; subrogation; trespass;

vehicular accidents (automobile, motorcycle, and trucking); workplace injuries;

wrongful death; and wrongful termination. In addition, Chris has authored the

briefs and/or handled oral argument in more than 30 appeals and original

proceedings.

 

After graduating from law school, Chris practiced appellate law with the firm of

Crofts & Callaway for two years, representing clients before the courts of appeals

of the State of Texas, the Supreme Court of Texas, and the United States Court of

Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He joined Lindow ▪ Stephens ▪ Treat LLP in October

2003. Since then, Chris has tried multiple cases to a jury, taken numerous

depositions and examinations under oath, researched, briefed, and argued

numerous pre-trial, trial, and post-trial motions, and continued his appellate

practice, both in state and federal court.
