Margaret Brown ("Maggie") was born in Madison, Wisconsin. She
graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 2009, receiving
a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. As an undergraduate, she interned at
one of the oldest public radio stations in the United States (WORT-FM)
and volunteered as a jazz DJ. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Brown
worked at a large law firm (Foley & Lardner) and served as a project
manager at a business advocacy organization in Madison, Wisconsin.
She also served as assistant to the secretary of the Dane County Regional
Transit Authority.
Ms. Brown graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law.
During law school, she interned with Judge Debra Vogt of the Lane
County Circuit Court. Additionally, she interned with a boutique Plaintiff’s
firm in Tucson, Arizona, and interned in Washington DC for the Prometheus
Radio Project. Ms. Brown received high marks for her research paper analyzing
the effects of copyright law in the context of broadcast radio and online
streaming services. Ms. Brown received her juris doctorate in 2014. She has
lived in Texas since graduation. Ms. Brown serves on the Board of Directors
for a charitable organization in Madison, Wisconsin. She recently presented
to a large corporation regarding the legal impact of section 18.001 of the Texas
Civil Practice & Remedies Code.
Ms. Brown practices both first and third party insurance litigation, with a primary
focus in third-party insurance defense.
